"Sanford Meisner On Acting"

Student: “What I got out of it, is that before the scene begins, through your imagination- maybe by daydreaming, or however you go about it- you get yourself ticking emotionally, so that when you enter the scene you have an emotional fullness which lasts as long as the first moment. It may or may not come up again in the course of the scene, but it brings you on alive and full. And you can't necessarily relate it to the scene because it has to be something deeply personal to you, that only you know about, that only stimulates you.”

Meisner: “That’s right.”
